Parcel Tax (Measure B) Exemption Information

Prev | Top | Next
Tue, Dec. 1, 2009
On May 5, 2009, voters in the Cupertino Union School District approved a local elementary student achievement measure to ensure reliable funding to maintain quality education and protect our elementary and middle schools from state budget cuts.

The $125 parcel tax will generate an additional $4 million in revenue annually for the next six years. These vital funds will be used to maintain the high-quality education and help to offset the drastic state budget cuts to education. Specifically, Measure B funds will be used to attract and retain qualified and experienced teachers, ensure new teachers are adequately trained and supported, maintain safe and clean schools, keep technology current, and maintain high quality academic programs, including art and music programs.

The deadline of June 15 for applying for a parcel tax exemption has passed.  We are now in the process of submitting all verified applications received to the County Tax Collector for processing.

If you were eligible and not able to file for an exemption for this year, you may apply for a refund after your 2009-2010 tax bill has been paid in full.  Applications for refunds will be available at the Cupertino Union School District Office, 10301 Vista Drive, Cupertino beginning January 1, 2010.

If you have any questions, please contact Jeremy Nishihara at (408) 252-3000, Extension 323.
